Sestri Levante la “ Città dei due Mari “ una delle ultime località ad oriente del Golfo del Tigullio. Anticamente Sestri Levante sorgeva su di un isolotto consistente nel promontorio attuale a sud a strapiombo sul mare. Questo isolotto fu, solamente in età moderna, unito alla terraferma da un sottile istmo formato dai depositi delle numerose e periodiche alluvioni del torrente Gromolo e dall'azione costante del mare. Sestri Levante si affaccia su due baie, una più bella dell'altra: quella del Silenzio e quella delle Favole. Per avere una visuale completa di Sestri dall'alto e osservare il blu del Tigullio circondati dal verde delle colline, bisogna recarsi a Punta Manara; raggiungibile solo a piedi con un sentiero che comincia poco fuori la città, il cammino sarà ricompensato all’arrivo nel punto più alto, con il panorama della città e del mare incontaminato. Perdersi nelle piccole stradine ricche di: negozi, bar e ristoranti caratteristici del luogo offre stimoli sempre diversi e interessanti. La baia del Silenzio, luogo di rara bellezza, la passeggiata leggermente in salita offre un panorama unico, magari sorseggiando un calice di … “ABISSI”… proveniente dalle “Cantine” dei vigneti locali.

Sestri Levante, locally known as the "City of the two Seas”, is one of the last towns along the east coast of the Gulf of Tigullio. Sestri overlooks two bays, the Bay of Silence and the Bay of Fables. The Bay of Silence is a place of rare beauty. After a slight uphill walk, you can take in a stunning and unique view of the bay. Enjoy the view with a glass of "ABYSS" from one of the local vineyards. Historically, Sestri was an island, consisting of the current promontory in the south that overlooks the sea. It is now joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus that was formed from the frequent flooding of the Gromolo stream. The best place to get a view of Sestri and the blue of the Tigullio is from above. For the best vantage point, you have to go to Punta Manara, reachable only by foot. You will find the path just outside the city. Your efforts will be rewarded once you reach the highest point, with the panorama of the city, the pristine sea and the surrounding green hills. In the city itself, you can get lost in the typical small streets full of shops, bars and restaurants. There are many different and interesting things to see and try in Sestri.
